New Image Promotions artistes update Oct 1st - 8th 2009

Through this column we intend to bring you each week current and credible news on the artistes we provide publicity and promotional services for with a recap of the activities and events highlighted throughout in a month end recap:

Fantan Mojah performed for the first time on the Uprising Reggae Festival held in Zlate Piesky/Golden Sands the largest recreational and sporting region in Bratislava, the Capital of Slovakia. Fantan emerge as the second best performer with 219 out of 1474 number of votes on Uprising Reggae festival website, Europe base Reggae artistes Irie Revoltes came first with 375 votes. Uprising Reggae Festival is an annual event held in Bratislava that had never featured a current Jamaica base Reggae artiste since its inception.

Nesbeth's single Drive By goes into rotation on over 14 channels in 10 Caribbean islands this month as well as aired across South Africa on Cape Town TV. The artiste, still fresh from his recent New York trip, spent much of his time there promoting the single. This, his first visit to the Big Apple created opportunities that once seemed far fetched but Nesbeth has broken down that barrier and have used the opportunity to rekindle the flames his Board House single had sparked in the city. During his visit, Nesbeth gave an outstanding and well received performance on one of the city's biggest Dancehall/Reggae event Irie Jamborie, a memorable performance on Rock with Squeeze and represented well on Summerfest in Washington DC. Summerfest featured popular Hip/Hop, Reggae/Dancehall and Soca artistes Rik-Ross, Fabolous, Beenie Man and Machel Montano. Nesbeth also made the cover of an up and coming New York base magazine called "Gorgeous" October issue.

I-Octane has found a hit song among his catalogue of amazingly good Reggae selections. The single "Mama you alone" has quietly crept on almost all the local charts as well as the New York Top 20 singles chart and the Toronto Top 10 Reggae singles chart. Octane has completed 16 tracks for his debut album which is slated for an early 2010 release. Plans are now being put in place to build the right momentum around the album before its release and include a promotional tour in Europe and other designated markets.

Up and coming Dancehall/Reggae artiste Christina Starz is quickly becoming a favourite among radio jocks internationally, many of whom have put in requests for radio jingles and interviews. The djs likes Christina's raunchy but humorous style and believes that she has international appeal. Christina leaves the island this weekend to perform solo for the first time on a billed event in Nassau at the Sports Empire, Downtown, Nassau Bahamas, this could have derive from a previous performance in the Bahamas earlier this year where she was opening act for Fantan Mojah in Freeport.

Other updates!!: Dancehall/Reggae artiste Bitta "so sicka" and up and coming DJ Currency is on our radar as they work assiduously to create the necessary buzz in the industry. Bitta now has confirmed agreement with two (2) reputable producers to record and has released a new single entitled Up and Down on the Go-Go Club rhythm produced by Russian. DJ Currency on the other hand, is steadily increasing his catalogue of dubs while promoting his entertaining mixes in streets and via internet. New member to the New Image Promotions family, Police Constable/Artiste Xpress has already spread a wave of excitement among some international radio djs with his new single "She's in love" featuring Turbulence. Xpress has been busy in the studio doing jingles and will be interviewed live on Saturday night on KKFI FM in Kansas City.
